Deadline for Larry Silverstein

The controversial developer of the new World Trade Center cite has stalled enough, officials claim. The New York Port Authority has given architectural developer Larry Silverstein two offers to chose from, each one with different ideas on who will build what at the site. New York City mayor Bloomberg said that they have been “negotiating and negotiating,” and that enough is enough. Team Silverstein says that they will review the new plans, and make their decision soon.

The first proposed plan allows Silverstein to develop three towers and pay $100 million toward a memorial. The Port Authority would then build the Freedom Tower and an additional building. The other plan just has Silverstein building one tower, and taking a $50 million payout.

Larry Silverstein and the city of New York have been embattled in a very public war of words over the future of the World Trade Center site. (source)
