No charges for Rep. McKinney

Cynthia McKinney is a free woman. On Friday, a grand jury declined to indict the U.S. Representative with a confrontations in which she admitted to hitting a police officer who tried to stop her from entering a House office building. The grand jury has been considering the case shortly after the incident took place on March 29.

On March 29, McKinney tried to enter a House office building without walking through a metal detector or wearing the lapel pin that identifies members of Congress. The police officer did not recognize McKinney, and asked her three times to stop. She did not, and he tried to stop her. McKinney then hit him. McKinney claimed she was the victim of “racial profiling.” Critics pointed out her very recent makeover, which made her look very different than before.

And now, McKinney can put this whole ordeal behind her. The grand jury voted not to indict the former presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney on charges related to the confrontation.
